5.0 out of 5 stars. Great features, great priceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Sewmomnh from New England on Saturday, December 5, 2015This is a gift for my son. It has some unexpected features, such as thumb holes in the sleeves and a powder skirt. Nice and heavy and great for winter.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Runs very smallReviewed by Anonymous from kansas city on Sunday, November 15, 2015This is not a shell, rather it is a "fully lined with polartec insulation " . The title is very misleading and should be changed, but I doubt Sierra will do so.

5.0 out of 5 stars. cosmic gore-tex jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by wayne the traveler from north carolina on Tuesday, February 24, 2015I bought one of these jackets almost 20 yrs ago. It is still in good shape but showing some wear. This jacket is almost exactly the same style, with zipper pockets the same and an additional pocket inside. I am thrilled to find almost the exact same jacket nearly 20 years later. This jacket is has the same material and construction so I am hoping to get 20 yrs out of this one. I travel all over the world and the previous jacket was perfect for travel with the pockets, light weight, and water proof. This is a perfect jacket for someone who travels without a lot of luggage. Just fill up the pockets, fill a back pack and go.
Getting this jacket on sale was icing on the cake. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Marker Cosmic Gor-TexVerified Buyer Reviewed by T38preston from Mammoth CA on Thursday, February 12, 2015Nice Jacket. Maybe a little on large side for some. Not what I thought of for a shell. Has lining and is warm to 30s. Wore with light fleece skiing quite toasty. Deffinetly water proof.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great shellVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Maine on Monday, January 26, 2015I've worn this shell several times with temps. in the low teens and high winds and have been very comfortable. I'm 6 feet / 190lbs, and the large is perfect with enough room to add layers but not too baggy by itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great shell for alpine skiing.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Telluride,CO on Wednesday, December 17, 2014I bought this shell jacket for skiing and have worn it in some pretty wet conditions and it performed flawlessly. I would highly recommend this jacket for any snow sport activity.

4.0 out of 5 stars. love it! but.......Verified Buyer Reviewed by bike commuter from chicago on Saturday, November 15, 2014The right hand pocket zipper gets caught easily on the interior zipper flap of material. In addition, the stiching is ripping our of the gauntlets. The material is great! Haven't had the opportunity to test out the waterproofness of it. Breathability seems good. Comfortable and looks great!

3.0 out of 5 stars. Pretty good. Some design shortcomingsReviewed by Anonymous from VA on Saturday, February 15, 2014I got this jacket because I wanted a helmet compatible gore tex shell for snowboarding. I have only used it a couple times so far--heading to WY and will try to update review after.
-Sizing listed is not that accurate. Runs big--I went one size up based on sizing info listed here. I like my jackets a little loose even with multiple layers, this one is already a pretty long and baggy fit.
-Pit zips do not have mesh to keep snow out.
-Collar should be slightly taller in the front to cover face from wind more.
-The gore tex feels much thinner and fragile than my 2 other 2l shells.
-Would really like a pocket on one or both of the sleeves.
-Hood is indeed helmet compatible and fits pretty well. Also very functional without a helmet when you cinch it down (if you wear goggles all the time). If you don't wear goggles, forget about using this hood--the brim is not great and tends to ride down and cover your eyes without another brimmed hat underneath or goggles to prop it up.
-My phone was damp in my chest pocket during a snow storm with some rain mixed in--but it may have just been from perspiration.
-Water repellent coating is not great, I will probably treat it with some nikwax wash-in before my next trip and see if it is any better.
So far, not a bad jacket for the price I paid. But I would never pay close to list price for this shell--this company has some things to learn about making jackets if they want to charge close to $400 for a 2l shell. My other 2l shell from a snowboarding outerwear company that just shut down blows the cosmic out of the water in most aspects--the only problem I had with that one was the hood not being helmet compatible. -
