Marmot 20°F Sorcerer Sleeping Bag - Long, Synthetic, Mummy

Closeouts. So lofty, you might just wonder if it's down. Marmot's 20°F Sorcerer sleeping bag overlaps waves of cozy Spirafil insulation to eliminate cold spots. And unlike down, the quality synthetic fill insulates and dries quickly when it gets wet.

Just what I was looking for - we'll have to ask my son after a summer of camp life. At least his head and toes will be covered!

This is the most value I've found and I've researched thoroughly. Synthetic is heavier than down, however this weighs in under 4 pounds. All bags absorb moisture and sweat, however synthetic bags dry fast and will be ready night after night, whereas down bags can take 3-4 days to completely dry out. Down just doesn't work well in the Rockies for that reason. Temps fluctuate more than flat-lands, and so this hot bag is needed year round. It has double left zippers so you can vent it however you'd like to while sleeping and with ease, no fumbling. I'm 6'1", 200 lbs., and this bag has more than ample room for not only me, but my morning clothes at the bottom to warm. Though it is a bit heavier than down, you can't go wrong with these new synthetic bags for usability and comfort, because you will have a crisp dry bag night after night. This particular bag compresses very well, and it fits in my Gregory full size backpack. Tight, but fits fine, and is very durable for hiking backcountry. I purchased a liner for it to bring it to a 0 degree bag, and for general sanitation to keep the bag like new, and it has been thoroughly mountain tested in a bivy sack down to about 25 degrees, and with my liner was hot and vented the whole night. I'm comfortable enough with this bag to go 4 season camping with it, since it dries so fast, and am certain it will do well in an igloo. (FYI: Stuff sack included)

Marmot bags are very good value from STP. This Sorcerer bag is heavy but not a concern- used as a comforter at my camp. Inside lining is a coarser, more durable fabric than on the 600 down bags and should wear well. Seems well-rated, temperature-wise. Wish it came with a bivy-storage bag but that's a monor gripe considering the very good price--

I am a big guy and i bought this for its size, it fit well all except the foot area. I gave this to my son and he used it last weekend in 30 degree overnight camping and worked wonderfully!

Bought one for my son and borrowed it for a long canoe trip to the BWCA. What a great bag, very warm, comfortable . I'm 6-3 and this was plenty long enough. Highly recommend for the tall people.

Great bag for the money. Yes it's bulky/heavy and do not consider a backpacking scenario without a compression sack. However lets be real for the money (if you get it with a disc cuopon) it's a great purchase. tech side, I am 6'3" 240lbs and I have too much room (so if you are going to be in a 20 degrees situation be sure to fill the inside with extras) great for 30-40 degrees. Tested on late summer 8000 ft at 35 plus and great!! recently came back from camping and hit the high 20's and it got cold until I filled the air pockets. Again great buy for the money/ very good quality reason why 5 stars.(If you are careful when you zip it works fine.

The bag seems a little on the heavy side but very durable. I just used it 7 days at my sons scout camp and it was great. Plenty of room for me to sleep on my side and bend my knees. A little too warm for upper 40s night. I didn't think it a big deal at first but the glow in the dark zipper handle worked great.

I am a tall guy at 6'2" so I was skeptical that it would not be long enough when I bought this sleeping bag. After having used it on three camping trips now, I think a person 6'6" would fit comfortably. I have not tested the temp rating down to 20 degrees, but the temp did drop to the mid-thirties last night, and I remained comfortably warm in my sleeping bag. I do find that if the temperature is not in the 30's or low 40's I trend to overheat inside, because the bag insulates so well. The zipper snags on the material rather frequently, so I have learned to zip slowly. Im pleased with this product.
