What a nice bag for the price at STP! This one will keep you warm and the inner collar and full hood are great. Now for some winter camping...

I just got back from a backpacking trip in the NC mtns at 5000ft + with nighttime temps in the lower 20's. This bag was better than expected. I'm 6ft 190 lbs and I had room to spare. As another wrote the down was treated to be hydrophobic as printed on the bag. I would definitely recommend this bag!

Just spent several nights in this bag at 10-20 degrees. The temperature didn't quite get down to the 5 degree rating, but the bag kept me warm in damp, cold air.

Just got back from a trip high up in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. The day was cold with wind chill, my fingers were turning blue! Woke up the next morning and the condensation on the inside of my tent was frozen, and it was snowing. I stayed nice and warm through the night, no problem.

It's not posted anywhere for this item, but the bag I received does have Down Defender (water resistant treatment for the down feathers) which is nice to have.

All in all a great lower temperature bag!

I do a LOT of camping. I work for fish and game and much of my job is field work during the fall. In Idaho, it gets pretty chilly in the fall. Before I bought this bag I had an REI 15 degree down bag that I have had for nearly 15 years. I took great care of it but eventually, I knew it wasn't holding its loft anymore and nights were getting really chilly. I got this bag for an incredible deal and I swear its the most comfortable thing in the world. I might use it at home its that nice. Its quite roomy and you can be a tall person and fit comfortably in this bag. The best part is how down filled the hood is and there is a down collar that you can wrap around your chest that totally eliminates drafts. Thanks marmot, you've outdone yourself.

    • The one I just received (9/22/2016) says on the bag that it had Down Defender (treated). Not sure if that's because this is a newer bag, but nowhere else on this listing does it say that it is. Just on the bag.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
