I already had an Aber in medium and it fit well except the chest area, which was a little snug...worked fine when over a very thin t-shirt Bought another in large and it was much more comfortable, and the arm length was still fine (usually Marmot large items are a bit too long in the arms for me). The tail hem, however was about an inch too long. I found if I cinched the bottom hem just a tad it was fine; otherwise, it would have a weird looking fold on the bottom that had a sloppy look to it. The large was perfect with just a t-shirt underneath, but also roomy enough to wear over my driclime windshirt. Jacket has excellent ventilation. I do miss not having a chest or arm pocket for my ipod touch.

If you are looking for a lightweight shell, this is it. No fleece lining making it too hot and useless during the spring and summer. No extra pockets all over it, just a solid shell. Wearable to work or into the woods. I am 6'3", 210 lbs. and have a 43L suit jacket size. The XL is perfect. Tailored fit looks great but enough room for a long sleeve shirt underneath without pulling, etc... Great shell at a steal of a price! Thanks STP!

Typical form fitting Marmot cut, but stretch material moves with you. Great mid-layer. Material is not as soft next to skin as I anticipated-a little rougher than driclime or fleece, but isn't uncomfortable. Haven't used for running yet, so curious to see if material becomes abrasive over a long run. Quality is very good and holds its form nicely. I'm 5'8" 168 lbs and have a 41" chest...medium is very snug...no more than a t-shirt will fit, but jacket definitely moves with you.

  • Question “Does this jacket have a lining?”
Asked on 6/26/2011 12:00:00 AM by tml from midwest
    • Answer It has a lining on the front body of the coat, then the sleeves and back are unlined.
Answered on 7/7/2011 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer no lining.
Answered on 8/2/2011 12:00:00 AM by Mercymee from San Luis Obispo, CA.
    • Answer No lining, really quite light...more like a windbreaker.
Answered on 8/4/2011 12:00:00 AM by Paetrix from Middle Border, IL
    • Answer No lining, it is a relatively thin, stretchy material, but feels like it would be pretty abrasion resistant, w/DWR coating.
Answered on 9/15/2011 12:00:00 AM by Submetals from Rockville, MD
    • Answer It's got a sewn in lining (of sorts) on the front of the jacket, but it dosen't add warmth. This windbreaker is very lightweight and breathable- the company considers it an outer layer, but I like to use it as a light jacket when I need just a little more warmth than a long sleeved shirt would supply. It isn't nearly as warm as a traditional soft shell.

    • Answer No
Answered on 11/2/2011 12:00:00 AM by KB from NH
    • Answer No lining just a good softshell for spring/fall or layering.
Answered on 4/10/2012 12:00:00 AM by William from Athens, GA
  • Question “Is this waterproof? I need a lightweight, waterproof jacket for late spring/summer for the midwest (in other words, just a shell with no insulation).”
Asked on 4/30/2011 12:00:00 AM by Brad from Lexington, KY
    • Answer It is not a waterproof jacket, but soft shells will shed some water.
