This tent will work well for my family of 3 (2 adults 1 child). The tent is lightweight for backpacking trips and extremely breathable (without the fly this is really a 1 season tent. Even with the fly it is pretty breezy. Living in Hawaii, this isn't a problem for me, but something to think about for others out there). Set up was intuitive and took less than 5 minutes. Big name quality construction yet very affordable. The fly has 6 guy-out points and two vestibules. Using all stakeout points requires purchasing a few more stakes than what is provided; but using all guy-out points is generally overkill anyway, so for me the point is moot. Ground space is efficient with minimal room for gear on the interior of the tent. One could use one of the vestibules for storage, but not much. There are attachment points on the top-center for a gear loft. I imagine any universal loft would fit, although it would be nice if it were included with the tent. Also, the floor is thin and one should consider purchasing a foot-print of the same dimensions of the Ajax 3, which Marmot doesn't make. Again, this is another piece that would be nice if included, but would ultimately drive up the price by at least $25 (which, IMO is an acceptable up-charge).
Four stars because of the high quality construction, relative light-weight and packability for a 3 person tent. Deducted 1 star point for lack of footprint, gear loft. While one can do without the latter, the former is indispensable, at least in my mind.
