I was very excited to find this mid-layering piece in STP's closeouts; often many of these specialty garments are not available on sale anywhere due to their popularity and rather high, but fair, price for all the technical features included. As a STP item, the price makes this an excellent buy. Tha... Read More

I wear this jacket running and it is super comfortable. The sleeves are long enough that I can pull them over my hands when I probably should have worn gloves. I subtracted a star because the sleeves don't provide any wind resistance, which makes it less versatile and narrows the range of conditions it is good for. The pockets are roomy, the hood is well designed, and the hobo gloves can't be beat. It is quickly becoming my go-to jacket.

seems to be well made. fit is not too snug and is comfortable to wear. arms are cut very long as there are thumb cut outs for the hands. not sure how well the primaloft will hold up under a heavy backpack.

Warm and snug, quite well for the temperature outside now (around 0 Deg Celsius) in Beijing.
I am 5'11, 176lbs, and select the size L. I can find some room to wear a shirt for the body and the arm.
But if a sweater, the body is still quite ok, but the arm would be too narrow to fit in. Anyway it is warm
enough to have only a shirt inside. Five stars!

Used this skiing in all the snow last weekend in CO. The thin hood was great to have under the helmet in all the wind and snow. Used it under a shell and was plenty warm though in extreme cold I would definitely add another insulating layer.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
