Marmot Approach Jacket - Soft Shell (For Men)

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for -- a lightweight, not very warm, breathable softshell for backpacking and hiking in the Sierras. It fits well over a baselayer and under a shell. It breathes great for cool temps hiking in the snow. But, the velcro on the cuffs do not hold well. This appears to be a factory problems as the cuffs on 12 jackets were all the same. So, I called Marmot and they will repair for free. I am 5'8" with a 41" chest.

Nice jacket for Spring running/walking/light snow with a poly base layer or shirt in town. The color turns out to be a nice light Tan that coordinates with anything. Fits close, but not too tight over light shirt but no room for sweater. Obviously meant for spring and cool summer nights. Can be worn as shirt under Fleece jacket when colder. Some complain about Marmot sleeves are too long, but actually that's good for extended arms when bike riding or using poles. Arm pocket perfect for cell phone. Good quality of fabric and construction.

It is unexpected good quality jacket and the size fit for me.

I was looking for a jacket to transition from winter to spring and this is perfect. I am 6'2' and 160 and this is a perfect fit. The cuffs are just below my wrist and just a little snug through the shoulders. I like the color chosen because it is subtle and I wear it with jeans or training pants. All around great purchase

I usually wear a Medium in jackets, I had to return the medium too tight in the torso
