I bought this for a three week trip to Scotland and was amazed at how much gear it could hold. I love that it unzips nearly all the way around so you can pack it like a suitcase, but can also zip it up part way and pack more into it like a top loading pack. There are straps in the bottom of the ba... Read More

My favorite backpack ever. Opens like a suitcase, rather than the difficult top load pack, meaning you can better fit & pack it, and retrieve items easier. Well made excellent quality.

I'm so happy to finally have this bag in my hands! It will be my #1 companion for my 2 week trip to Peru and I'm looking forward to using it as my carry-on for the airpolane as it will fit as well as living out of it for the two weeks. It looks to be very spacious, and of course because it is NOT just top-loading, I will be able to access areas in my pack without taking everything out. Love the colors - grey and crimson, as that is also my school colors! YAY, so excited to use this pack!!

I bought two for myself and my husband to take on a 2 1/2 week trip to the UK in October. We used the packs as our carry-on bags. I was able to pack most of my clothes, jacket and extra shoes. While on the trip I used the pack everyday as a day pack for hiking and sight seeing. I loved the suitcase opening and the side straps to winch it tight when lightly loaded. I carried loads up to 30 pounds with ease (I'm a 5'4' 117 lb woman) and the pack fit like a glove. I would have liked a few more pockets but overall it fit the bill perfectly. I love it so much I bought two more for my sons.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
