I have ordered two of these Marmot jackets, one for each vehicle I have and ordered one liner to switch between the two depending on which vehicle I drive. This particular jacket is a cornice and is one of the better jackets made by Marmot, it fits large but I purchased it due to the way it fits so I can put the liner in and layer my clothing. I love Gore-Tex products due to the efficentcy they have at keeping me dry and warm, even without a liner. Marmot makes a variety of jackets and some do not fit even if I order the same size I ordered for this jacket. Out of all the jackets I have had this Marmot Gore-Tex jacket is a excellant jacket, even without a liner. The hood is detachable or you can roll it up and it fits into the collar area of the jacket also the hood is made of the same thickness of the jacket which I like also, most jackets where the hood rolls up is usually thiner so it fits better into the collar area. I appreciate Marmot making the hood the same thickness as the rest of the jacket and I have found nothing bad to report on this particular jacket. I would recommend this jacket for anyone that goes hiking, back[...]ng or just walking on a street in the middle of a city.

The Marmot Cornice shell performs well in wind and rain, is light weight and looks great. I wear it around town in the worst weather from 30 degree temps on up. Paired with a sweater or fleece, the shell is very warm and the Goretex frabric breathes well.

I was pleasantly surprised. Despite its light weight, the jacket has kept me warm on some cold days. Would definitely recommend for purchase. Love the blue colour in the jacket I bought. Have received many compliments on the jacket.

I was looking for a relatively lightweight, waterproof, city wear jacket that was warm enough to get me through moderately cold and rainy winter weather. The Marmot Cornice does this and more. It's waterproof, windproof, and with the internal lining is more than sufficient for temperatures in the 30s. Moreover, the fit is such that it's easy to layer, making the jacket suitable for much lower temperatures as well. The only thing I don't like is the hood - its huge. So I generally wear the jacket without it.

I like this jacket very much; materials, construction, hood attachment, all top notch. I am disappointed that the product description didn't mention that the jacket can accomodate a removable liner. I thought, well it is a closeout, probably discontinued, but I contacted the mfgr anyway. The said this jacket is made exclusively for Sierra so ask them. No response. It just seems odd that with the removable hood & snow skirt that it wouldn't have the liner also, even as an option. For me this would have made this jacket perfect (warmer). The mfgr. offered to visit them (lucky I'm close) and they would see if a liner from another of their products would work. Either way I will keep the jacket, while a little on the expensive side for me, still a quality product and OK value as is.

Not true to sizing. Price point for the quality is too high.

I use the jacket for cold weather running mostly, but I also use it for casual. Very stylish, well built. Lots of function and very comfortable. I usually buy a large jacket, but this jacket fits perfect as a medium. I'm about 6 ft tall, and I weight about 158 and the medium is perfect. Also, the sleeves are a bit longer, which is excellent for the cold weather, There is a wrist band to tighten the fit of the sleeve. I bought an extra jacket for my son. I got him a large because he is bigger than me.

I went to several retail stores, including Marmot and North Face. Neither had what I needed: a Gore-tex jacket that was light enough to use year-round but had enough of a liner and a powder skirt to provide warmth as an outer shell. All I could find were heavy duty three layer shells or single layer rain wear. This Cornice model is right in between. It's a bit lighter weight than the climbing shell it's replacing, and a little smaller-fitting, but it's perfect for what I need.
