I wanted to like this Jacket, but it could use more Primaloft. The body is fine(4 oz. sq/yd), but the sleeves use less(3oz.), and the hood a paltry 1.8 oz.

I wanted to like this Jacket, but it could use more Primaloft. The body is fine(4 oz. sq/yd), but the sleeves use less(3oz.), and the hood a paltry 1.8 oz.

This is too bad, because the jacket is cut normal(51" actual chest, size Large), as opposed to so many jacket made with huge chests and shorter sleeves. These sleeves measure 37-1/2" for the large.... very nice.

The Hood is nice(minus lack of real insulation), as it offers protection up to your mouth.... but it could use a drawcord around the back of the head to prevent it from hindering vision. The velcro volume adjustment doesn't cut it Marmot.

Mine came with a defective cuff, one was larger than the other. It is a nice jacket, just keep in mind the insulation is modest.
    • Best Uses: Winter hikes
    • Cons: Little Hood Insulation, Marmot Quality Control, no pit zips
    • Pros: Athletic fit, High Collar, Long Sleeves, Room To Layer
