I have looked closely at several of the lightest W/B jackets available and believe that this jacket has the perfect balance of craftsmanship, durability, and weight. However, with any ultralight product, one must be aware that it is more fragile, and will not outlast a heavier weight jacket. I purchased a jacket that was one size bigger to allow room for an ultralight down jacket with hood (Stoic). This jacket can now be used to protect the down during a colder hike, but can also be used alone, on warmer days.

The fit is quite close but I can still fit my fleece on underneath. For really cold weather I would want a larger size.
