Most Helpful 4-Star Review
Reviewed by STP Fan from Pocono Mts on Wednesday, March 13, 2013This was a much nicer jacket (coat really) than expected. It is not just a shell, it has a nylon lining, and a small amount of insulation. Would be most ideal for a location with cold rain. The fabric was not nearly as stiff or noisy as expected from the description, and the pockets, cuff tabs, hood, etc are well though out - not a cheap, quick manufacture job. Is a little longer than usual, which is also ideal for rain. The only negatives for me - though not for everyone - were (1) the insulation, where I just wanted a shell; (2) the cut is on the 'trim fit' side, where I need a fuller cut. Hence, I had to send it back, but did so with regret. I still highly recommend it for anyone on the trim side who wants a nice rain coat for cool weather.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Chautauqua from Annapolis, MD on Thursday, September 13, 2012I have only used this jacket once so far, but I was impressed by how good this jacket repels water. I know it is billed as a waterproof and breathable jacket, but the water shoots off it like a windshield treated with RainX. I got caught in a fast moving storm with very heavy rain and it handled it no problem. Could be my new favorite fall jacket, and over insulation my new favorite winter shell. The only reason I gave it four stars is that I would prefered it to have been made in the good ole USA, not imported.
- Best Uses: Staying Dry Waist Up
- Cons: None so far
- Pros: Comfortable, highly water repellent, Lightweight, Well Made
