I got this jacket as a replacement for another brand that was advertised as warmer. The other jacket had thin areas in the down that I couldn't shake/fluff to fill in and the wind would find those spots immediately. This jacket lofts better, has no down-fill gaps, and seems like it will last longer. The only downside was already mentioned by another reviewer: the bottom of the jacket is a smaller circumference than it should be and this causes the zipper to "pouch" at the stomach area. I just push it flat when I notice it, and it doesn't show much with my hands in the pockets. Otherwise it's a really nice, warm, jacket. Sierra Trading Post rocks!

It's been below zero for a few weeks now, and I have worn this jacket every day and have been very happy with it.

Once again, Marmot delivers a SOLID quality down jacket. I absolutely LOVE this thing. It was -27 deg here the other morning, so had to take it out for a "test walk." Toasty warm, awesome. Great fit, good pocket placements (and nice plush lining on the main hand pockets). The hood is sized perfectly, no extra space. I have another Marmot down jacket that is 800 fill, but no hood, and this 650 fill is a little heavier and maybe slightly less compressible for keeping in a ski pack, etc, but overall it is an amazingly warm, well-built jacket, and once again at a great discounted S.T.P. price.

I love this jacket, wore it skiing the day it arrived and I was almost too warm. Lots of compliments from everyone who sees it. The thumb cuff is a great feature as well.

it is a nice option if you are looking for a thin/light weight down coat but on super cold days it would not be enough as a stand alone jacket

I was looking for a liner layer to my waterproof shell and hit it perfectly with this jacket. The fit and not too puffy 650 fill was a great choice for my intended use. I can also see this jacket being good for not real cold days.

Great product. Really like the way the sleeves have these internal cuffs with thumb-holes. Keeps the cold air out.
