Great jacket. I keep is stuffed in my pack or jersey pocket for those cool down hill sections after a long climb on the bike. Perfect for adding a little wind protection or keeping the chill from a light drizzle away.

This jacket is perfect for when you need just a little extra something to keep you warm, and it is compact enough that you will bother to bring it. The black looks stylish enough to wear out to casual places. It's water resistant, not water proof, but it still has been a nice thing to have on hikes when it starts sprinkling.

This typically comes on most of my trips. It weighs next to nothing and takes up very minimal space. I've used it in light rain. I've used running in fall/winter. I've even used it tied to the back of my bike rack on an overnight bike tour for visibility (got the high-vis yellow/green color). Most recently I took it with me on a trip where we did Mt Marcy (highest in NY), biked to Mt Mansfield (highest in VT), hiked Mansifeld. I used it each day -- it got crazy windy at the top of the hikes, and it was chilly the morning of the bike ride so used it then too. You really can't go wrong having this in your arsenal. Especially for the price.

It truly can be stuffed in a pocket and it's perfect when less than a jacket is required. I'm 6', 220 lb., and the large fits fine with room for a sweater if necessary.

Take a look at the UPS tracking record for this product. It goes to Boise twice, takes a loop through Texas and Colorado and finally ends up on my doorstep 12 days after it started moving. The wind shirt was only a 5 ounce product and could have been mailed in an envelope. I think you should get some explanation from UPS or maybe not do business with them again.

Super packable, holds up well in a drizzle for about 30 minutes, great wind resistance. I wish it had side pockets. I'm 6', 185, a large fits well with room for a fleece. I also have a medium for biking; it's a snug fit and the sleeves are a little short. I went with black, the blue is a bit brighter than the picture.

  • Question “How breathable do you find this jacket to be when active”

Asked on 12/14/2014 10:36:13 PM by Hooded Hobo from West of the Great Laramie Divide
    • Answer Very breathable, never clammy, soft and flexible against the skin.
Answered on 12/15/2014 12:25:22 AM by Pacific Rider from SF Bay Area
    • Answer It's plenty breathable but will get soaked if you sweat a lot, like I do when running. After a windy run, I notice it dries very fast when I'm cooling down and still outdoors. I've done some runs in it when in the 30F's and windy and I really like the way it takes the sting out of a cold wind and yet I stay cool and comfortable inside. Like the hoody to protect my ears from biting wind. Perfect for what I bought it for........super lightweight wind protection and stores down to virtually nothing when packing it on a trip and space limited. I live in Central TX, so days in the 20F's are rare, so haven't tested it in very cold conditions........would wear appropriate layers underneath for very cold.

    • Answer I find the jacket to be moderately breathable. It's light weight and wind-resistant and well constructed.

    • Answer Hard to say, since I'm not sure how to objectively rate breathability and I got it after most of the warmer weather had passed for the season. Its extremely light weight (the merest shell) and has rather open mesh under the arms and at the back of the neck. The couple of times I did wear it, I wasn't doing anything very strenuous.

That's the best I can do, other than to add that its very thin/lightweight and its of high quality.

    • Answer Its not especially loose fitting. I wear a medium and I just now tried it on with just a short sleeve T shirt. It fit fine and looked fine. There was some extra room, but not a lot. I'd say you could wear something a little heavier than a T shirt under it, but I wouldn't think you could wear anything too bulky under it. All depends on what you plan to wear under it and if you size up, presumably the sleeves and length will still be right for you. Hope this answered your question. This jacket is a nice shell, average roominess, but especially roomy though.

    • Answer Not a snug fit. I would buy your regular size.

    • Answer Yes. Buy up one size. The arms are generous but it is slim waist. I got a Medium and the waist is most likely 32-33" at the bottom. Great jacket, though. It breathes well, packs up small and has some style to it.
