5.0 out of 5 stars. Love This Jacket!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Montana on Monday, March 13, 2017This coat is perfect for keeping warm here in Montana. Room to layer under when necessary, and keeps me warm and cozy alone. The hood is great for keeping out the wind. This is my new goto jacket. I'm pretty tall, and typically have trouble finding sleeves long enough in a size small. Not an issue with this jacket. I'm 5'8" 123 lbs. small is perfect.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Kinda "We'll see"Reviewed by Lucian & Lu from Richmond, VA. on Sunday, February 26, 2017I know and love Marmot. I'm now on a strict clothes budget, (essentials, and prove it!) and I was so excited to finally make my purchase of this jacket. After lots of comparing and assessing my needs, I primarily wanted something really warm for 25 degree mornings doing the mandated dog walk. I decided on the Julia, at 800 fill and waist length, it seemed to be a perfect throw-on, not requiring an extra 10 minutes putting on layers and layers but a good under layer with a Gore-tex for winter storms that don't impact the morning run just my traction.
I was surprised by two aspects of the jacket; first the length. I had worried that the jacket might be too short given the pictures/video on STP but actually the Julia hits at top thigh and the back fully covers my tush. Which might be nice, but the jacket is a slim cut and the hem hitting on the thigh is constricting when I'm trotting along with the dogs.
The second surprise is the density of the 800 fill; I really expected there to be more actual stuffing! The hexagon design is cool but I'm disappointed in the amount of down in the channels and not too sure of the actual "cold rating" for this jacket.
I'll be stitching some fleece around the collar because the hood pulls the jacket away from my neck, otherwise on a 50 degree morning it was pretty comfortable. The slim cut of the large allows my 5'5, 140 lb frame a medium sweater with good range of motion and I do like many of the features though the finishing, loose threads, etc was less than I expected from Marmot. In summary, sized for fashion models, designed as a layer not a stand alone parka. -

5.0 out of 5 stars. Do not size up!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from LA on Saturday, February 11, 2017I absolutely love this jacket - the color, warmth and fit. I haven't used it in super cold weather yet but it would be great for my Scandinavia trip. I read all the reviews and I decided to size up to a medium. I'm about 125lbs, 5'5 and a 32d. I had to return the jacket for a small. Even then, it was still roomy for a shirt and a cashmere sweater with enough room to add a hoodie or a fleece jacket underneath. I probably could fit into a xs but I like things a little baggy and longer sleeves. Definitely a keeper!

I love the color & design of the julia .The neck zips up nice & high for extra protection from winter winds length gives me good coverage in back too, also love having the hood if I need it. its super warm i couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. I recommend this coat for anyone looking for a down jacket.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Beautiful jacket!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from PA on Thursday, January 19, 2017I bought this in the gem blue color, and it is this amazing rich royal blue. Some reviewers have said there's a slight purple shimmer in it, but I honestly don't see it. I normally wear a small in everything, but I took the advice given in prior reviews, and sized up to a medium. Glad I did! The coat is slightly fitted, and I like to be able wear hoodies under my jackets. I'm 4'11" and 120 lbs if that helps anyone. I have yet to test it out in super cold weather, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed!
