Marmot Kirkwood Gore-Tex® Shell Jacket - Waterproof (For Women)

I would have loved this jacket but was too slim though the bottom of zipper at hip. I knew the next size up would have been too large in sleeve lenght and shoulders.....I am a kind of avg woman 5'4" and 144 lbs.

I returned the jacket, although it was a great jacket Medium was too small. I usually wear medium but alas not this time. [...]

Unfortunately the Small that I ordered was a Small/Petite. I intend to reorder in the appropriate size. I will look forward to using this jacket for wet and cold eastern skiing. Marmot makes a great product and Sierra has fabulous sales.

I am 5'10'' and 130. I got the medium because the coat to me is a layering piece and not a stand alone jacket. I am an 34A cup size and it is loose in me across the chest, but snug when I have my puffy down vest under. I wont be needing the snow skirt, so it is not a big deal that it is high on my waist. The coat covers your waist and back well when on a bike but is slightly short for walking in the rain. I am tall, but have a short torso comparatively. The arms are shorter than I would have hoped. But I have amazon arms (long), even for my height. I bought the not-quite-as-bright orange, and it is sill bright. But I can walk into a room and not feel like a light source. Warm and weather proof. I am a bike commuter from Portland. OR, where it rains for half the year. I have been wearing it for two weeks with no problem. I will see how it holds up over time.

I have had three Marmot shells, and I am happy with all of them for their own purposes. This jacket is the best winter shell I have ever owned.

Jacket is Gortex so very breathtable. Stylish enough to wear a round town. Fit is on the small size so may have trouble in layering especially when you hit base camp and want to wear another layer underneath. Since jacket can be use in light-medium rain as well as wind proof it will be very versatile. I would take this for trail hiking as well as around town

I have a small frame but this jacket barely closed at my waist. There was no sense ordering another size because the shoulders and chest would have been too large. Also I did not like the top of the zipper. It went too high. It only would have been useful in storm conditions. The rest of the time it would look sloppy. I did love the soft waterproof fabric but that does not matter if the fit is terrible.

I'm rocking the orange glow and love it! Bright, but not hunter orange... sort of like the fall colors I could check out in the rain while wearing it. I ordered a size up to accomodate layering and am glad I did.

Way too short to be any good skiing or hiking. I'll be returning it as I don't want drafts going up my back. It's a nice material, but the fit is really strange--too form fitting for a fleece, too short in the body to be practical.

This is a great jacket, and I usually wear a size 10, but the large was more like a size 8.
