My husband and I have done A LOT of camping between the two of us whether it be backpacking in remote wilderness areas or USFS lands or wherever across the US, Canada, South America, Central America, as well as car camping, etc. We agreed this is a nice quality tent with similar features as our Sierra Designs expedition tent. I have never owned a 3-season tent, which is markedly different than a 4-season tent, and I was surprised the tent material is not much more than a screen but my husband said that's pretty typical for a 3-season tent. I am 5'4" and can almost stand up in the tent. We fit the two of us and our two children, ages 3 and 1 years comfortably. We could have put our 2 dogs in the tent with us but they prefer the back of our SUV. We have only used this tent 1x on a car camping trip but so far so good. Our neighbors thought it looked good enough when we put it up in our backyard (which was SUPER easy) they bought one, too. The poles seem quite durable and the fly pretty good, too. Only 10 pounds so you could probably take it backcountry too - just split up the tent and fly between two people. I almost gave it a perfect 5 stars, but didn't because of the 'screen' like tent material - might just be my lack of experience with 3-season tents but I think it could be better. Still a great tent, though.

set it up in the backyard, by myself, easy enough. I wish the tent came with a footprint. No apparent leaking with the fly attached, fly was not a struggle, I like the clips that allow you to adjust the tension, and the velcro tabs. My daughter loves it, pretty ample headroom.

Just returned from a trip to the Badlands, the maiden voyage for this tent. I practiced setup in my yard first, takes ~10 minutes with 1 person. Tent performed beautifully in unrelenting rain, we woke up with 2" rain surrounding us, but everyone inside and gear were dry. Fly dried out quickly when given the chance in dry weather. I am using a heavy-duty tarp as a footprint since the tent does not come with one. Plenty of storage pockets on sides and in roof of tent, also a hook for hanging a camp lamp inside. Very impressed, as usual, with Marmot gear.

This is an all net tent with full, to-the ground-all-around fly. Fly and tent have door openings on both ends, so ventilation is no problem in hot weather. It's easy to set-up with light segmented poles and clips. However, it has a large wind profile on all sides and does not incorporate modern design features, such as rigid three pole or four pole hubs. The result is a large and rather flimsy frame, as compared to state-of-the-art competitor products. Setting up in a windy situation would be tricky and could easily result in broken poles. Once up, the ability to stake out for additional wind loading is limited to side pull-outs on the fly and dependent on good staking or other tie off opportunities. I think that this will be a "nice" tent for car camping where there is always a motel option or at least the car as a bail out in a wind storm. I wouldn't backpack it where it is the only shelter -- then nobody cares about "nice" -- what is needed is "good."

Nice tent, well made and lite weight for the size. Just tall enought to walk around inside slightly stooped. I used it for the first time last weekend on a three day Bruneau river trip. It rained two of the three days and the tent stayed dry inside. Withstood 30 mph winds staked down with little deflection. Nice size for two cots and gear. Running rivers I spend several weeks a year sleeping in tents, setting them up and taking them down every day. Good tents last and cheep tents quickly fail. This Marmot appears to be well designed with quality materials. As for some of the other reviews, the set up instructions are on a tag in the stuff sack. I have set this tent up and taken it down at least seven times and the poles have no permamenant bend. Just set it up right. The light clip is nice and all the pockets are great for keeping stuff off the floor.

I use this as a one man tent, home base a cot in it and run a heater at 30 or below and feel like one little eskimo in heaven. 50+ winds rattle my mind a bit but not this little fortress. Sets quick and stays put when you tack her. I like this hotel.

Lightweight, easy to set up, lots of screen for warm summer camping and night sky viewing. Nice and big. We'll be taking our three young children to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in MN camping in it.

The first time I set it up the net wall ripped Not sure how I did it, might have helped if I had a diagram or written instructions. There are some great pockets placed in the roof and along the lower walls. Unfortunately the sewing to tack these pockets into the net ripped when I placed my mini light in it. Great design, but not durable enough for families with young kids or pets.

I got this as a gift for my husband for his birthday. We were looking for a backpacking tent that could fit a family of four. It was easy to set up, and take down, and is lightweight.
