This jacket is very warm without being bulky, and packs down reasonably small for travel. I like that the hood is integrated, so that it isn't flapping all over the place but is right there when it gets cold. A good, general purpose jacket for midwest winters. Fit is good ...quality of the materials is good and jacket is very warm. That ia what Marmot is noted for. My favorite brand.

Warm, water proof and hooded. Just the coat we have been looking for. It is a bit hefty, but not terribly heavy, just super warm and reliable in frigid weather. Marmot quality with zip out powder skirt, and with adjustable velcro at cuffs, the XL is ok, even when XL sleeves can be a bit on the longish side for husband, who falls between a L and XL most of the time. Husband is very pleased with the functionality of this parka.

This jacket is very warm without being bulky, and packs down reasonably small for travel. I like that the hood is integrated, so that it isn't flapping all over the place but is right there when it gets cold. A good, general purpose jacket for midwest winters. The water"proof" outer is a real plus. Cuts wind better than my other Marmot down sweater. A note about sizing: I have owned four Marmot jackets now; my others are all XL and fit well but in this one I sent back the XL for a size L which fits perfectly. I am almost 6-4 weigh 175 lbs. I usually end up buying Marmot jackets because they are typically more generous in the arm length and this one comes through as usual.

Have not had a chance to wear coat on slopes or in any extreme weather. However, the jacket seems to be quality crafted and comfortable fit. Sierra TP was a pleasure, product delivered very quickly after order.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
