I purchased this down jacket for my boyfriend as a winter gift. He loves everything about it. It is warm, fit, functional for the cold weather. The bright orange color gives they eyes some warmth already. A very good buy!

Bought this jacket for a lightweight ski coat. It worked very well and kept me warm at temperatures that were in the middle teens. The one drawback was the the zipper became disengaged at the bottom several times when I bent over at the waist. Overall it is a very nice nice jacket.

  • Question “If this jaket says 800 fill does this mean it is warmer than the 500 fill. This jacket looks lighter than the 500 fill and the reviews make me believe this is not as warm”
Asked on 11/4/2012 12:00:00 AM by Newbie from Toronto Ontario
    • Answer Technically speaking fill power is a measurement of the amount of space one (1) ounce of down (as shown on the right) will occupy in cubic inches when allowed to reach its maximum loft.|For example, one (1) ounce of 800 fill power goose down will loft to 800 cubic inches. The higher the fill power the larger the down cluster. Larger down clusters will loft higher, last longer and insulate better. You also have to consider fill weight. If you have a jacket with 500 fill with 10 oz. of fill weight and a 800 fill with 10 oz. of fill weight the 800 will be warmer. However if the 800 fill jacket has only 5 oz of fill weight, it may only be as warm as the 500 fill.
