Great pant, run small

Purchased these in S for my 12 year old son (currently 5'7", 28" waist, 123 pounds) and they barely fit. I was hoping they would be roomy as I was purchasing in advance for next year. If they had a Medium I would exchange. These would be perfect under shell pants skiing; love the 3/4 length with ski socks. If you can get the size to work they are wonderful; warm and cozy on the inside, sleek for layering on the outside.
