    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    This jacket would suffocate you in 10 minutes if not for the pit zips.With the zips fully open I last maybe 20 minutes.Above 50 degrees in the rain you will be equally wet inside the jacket as outside.The only thing breathable about this product is the zips.Good for low activity in the rain like mailing a letter or buying a newspaper.

    The waterproofing will degrade after harsh use. This is my second jacket, the first has lasted me 2 years. Just have some NikWax on standby. I bought this second jacket in Red. Compared to the other available Red raingear, this was my choice. Reasons being cost, weight, and packability.

    Just got this jacket a few days ago and we just had 75 mm rain in one day. Perfect timing! So far, seems to provide good water resistance . Great color. Hard to get my 15 year old son to wear something practical , but he really likes this jacket. Fashionable and functional.
