This jacket is excellent because of its flexibility for a variety of conditions. I live in southeastern Arizona and hike in a variety of environments and conditions. The temperature can vary 60 degrees during a hike and the wind can change dramatically in a short time. Moisture is usually predictable, but not necessarily in the high mountains especially in winter. The summer monsoon can drop the temperature 40 to 50 degrees in a matter of minutes.

More good Marmot gear. Very lightweight and easy to carry. Pit-zips and mesh pockets help it breath. Only time will tell how well it holds up.

This light waterproof jacket is the work horse of the jackets I own. The jackets with more features and more weight stay home.

I have now purchased this coat 3 times. Once each for my husband and I and now for my nephew to use for travel. Great jacket for the rain. Easy to layer with and takes up no space in the luggage. It is a little roomy. If you want a tighter fit, it may be better to size down. Otherwise order your regular size and know that you can probably fit a fleece underneath.

Women's sizes were tapered and to tight to use over fleece layers for cold water. Service to change to Men's sizes was wonderful.
