“precip and my size don't jive”

“The Marmot Precip Jacket is just cut wrong for me. I am a quite solid size 12, with 41" hips, but the large is too narrow in the hip area and the extra large is too large all over. The problem might be that I am short, at 5'2". I would prefer a raincoat which is roomier at the hip, so rain can drip off the coat and miss my body, at least somewhat. Was sorry to have to return this coat since I like everything else about it: the fabric, features, color. And the price was terrific. I am checking that I would recommend it to a friend, since it appears to be a great jacket, but it would have to be a taller and/or slimmer friend.”
