    The Marmot Precip Jacket is just cut wrong for me. I am a quite solid size 12, with 41" hips, but the large is too narrow in the hip area and the extra large is too large all over. The problem might be that I am short, at 5'2". I would prefer a raincoat which is roomier at the hip, so rain can drip off the coat and miss my body, at least somewhat. Was sorry to have to return this coat since I like everything else about it: the fabric, features, color. And the price was terrific. I am checking that I would recommend it to a friend, since it appears to be a great jacket, but it would have to be a taller and/or slimmer friend.

    Alas, have not had rain since purchasing this jacket a few weeks ago, but am looking forward to wearing under those conditions. Comparing and purchasing merchandise on line is always difficult for me, but I found these reviews really helpful and purchased my regular size. The jacket does run true to size, although it is fitted and feels just a tad short on me (I'm 5'9"). Might not be able to get anything bulky under it for any length of time, but am anticipating wearing it as a three season jacket and it does accomodate fleecewear. Appears to be a great deal for the price.
