Great rain pants. Used nearly daily on a trip to Alaska for hiking trails and back country in rainy conditions. Easy to pull on, packed small, and most importantly kept me dry. They fit perfect over regular pants (M -- for a size 8-10 pants) and were not too long (5'4"). Highly recommend.

Took them to Amsterdam for a bike tour and they worked fine in the cold rain

I needed a pair of waterproof pants that would be easy to put on over what I was wearing and durable enough to not fall apart if I brushed against the rock. The previous waterproof pants that I have owned have been bulky and awkward but these are streamlined and honestly pretty good looking considering that they are rain paints! I am 5'6, 125 and athletic and the size small was perfect.

I only gave these pants 4 stars because I haven't had a chance to wear them out in the rain yet, but if it were solely on fit and quality I'd give them 5 stars! I am about 5'8"/180lbs and normally wear a size 12-14 pants. I ordered the XL and I like the fit very much. The crotch is a little long so I have to roll the waist band down once to get it to where I like, but the band is relatively thin so rolling it doesn't create an awkward bump around my waist. They're a smidge tighter on my backside, but comfortably (and fashionably) so. They're a straight leg baggy pant, though, so don't expect them to fit or look like flares. Think more like wind pants or crunchy sweatpants :) I don't think I'd be able to wear bulky jeans comfortably underneath, but with some leggings or tight active wear, they'll be perfect!

The fabric is very light and seems like it will be breathable and durable (although I can't say for sure until I hike in them). And yes, they make noise. They are waterproof so naturally they will be a little "swishy".

I'll try to update this after hiking in them for two weeks in Ireland. Hoping they work out as well as I think they will!

The pants just came and appear to be true to size. I'm 5'9 1/2", 128 lbs. and the Medium fits perfectly as a shell and over a bottom layer. I haven't had a chance to test them out in the rain yet. They appear to be good quality. I gave them a 4 rating because I really haven't been able to test them in the rainy weather yet.

    • Answer Not to my knowledge, as I just purchase my second pair of these rain pants in five years and the petite small still ran true to size. These are wonderful rain wear - in Oregon I am VERY happy to own them!

    • Answer Sitting in a monsoon at a football stadium in Eugene, Oregon, these pants kept me DRY! I have no idea what the "official" rain rating is, but my "dry body" rating is a 5/5! 100% DRY rating, and in Oregon rain THAT is something to be thankful for!

    • Answer Yes, you can. I have done so. The pants have zippers at the cuffs that facilitate this.

    • Answer I was able to put on and take off without taking off my boots, but you have too make sure that pant bottoms are fully open before you start or you look like a comedy of errors. Pants are great, I was on motorcycle in INTENSE RAIN!

    • Answer I tried putting them on and taking them off in the comfort of my home where I and my boots are obviously warm and dry and I could perform both actions with minimal effort and just a bit of patience. It can be done! They will be getting their first field test in October on a portion of the Appalachian Trail. Hope that helps.

    • Answer Yes. I was able to put them on in the field over my hiking boots, just unzip as far as possible and scrunch pantlef down to minimize mud/dirt transfer.
