Great product. We got about 6 yrs casual use out of 2 before the lining delaminated. Not a replacement for Goretex (not as tuff or breathable) but you can't beat the lite weight when traveling. I use mine every time it rains and as an outer shell when it's cool. Got caught in a thunderstorm while hiking in the alps last summer and I was very happy to have it along - stayed dry! Great value for the price.

Unfortunately, this product has been changed - previous versions included a collar into which the hood wrapped. This one doesn't, and the hood is kind of a mess if not being used. Jacket works great, but is not as nice as it used to be.

Many top features - Hood adjustment, pit zips, high pockets for backpack waist straps. Designed as thoughtful quality, light, and packable, not heavy duty use. Bought 2 of them for everyday use in the rain forest.

Even in the rain I take my dog hiking. This jacket has kept me dry even in a heavy down pour. I would recomend the precip to anyone that is looking for a light weight solid rain jacket for a great price.

Seems true to marmot's high degree of function, have not put to the test, not sized for much layering but it seems to be for warm rainy weather
