“I've long been a fan of Marmot outerwear. Marmot stuff is generally well-made, stylish and comfortable. I bought this jacket for my wife. At the same time my wife's sister got the Marmot Minimalist gore-tex jacket. My wife loves this jacket. It's lined with a satiny material that is very comfortable. The hood is a full-time hood (not detachable and not stashable) - my wife wanted a full-time hood. It has lined hand-warming pockets and good storage pockets. It has good ventilation with the pit zips. And it's quiet (unlike many other waterproof breathable jackets). My wife's sister returned her Minimalist - which costs twice as much by the way - because it was uncomfortable (no lining), loud and generally had a crunchy feel to it. I was concerned that the Marmot MemBrain wouldn't perform as well as gore-tex in terms of breathability and waterproofness. But we've had a pretty rainy spring here and so far the wife is dry and happy. We'll see if it holds up over time with washing and such, but if it's like other Marmot jackets I've owned, it will be a great jacket for a long time.”
