Reviewed by Canoehead Jim from Central WI on Saturday, February 16, 2013I purchased this with the intent of using it on a spring canoe trip to Quetico Provincial Park. Unfortunately,the cut and fit preclude layering, which is usually necessary in fringe seasons at that latitude. Taking cues from other reviews, I ordered an XXL rather than my usual XL. I found ample room in the body for a light layer, but the sleeves are tailored so closely that it's impossible to wear more than a single thickness of clothing beneath unless one's arms are like pencils. Absolutely no freedom of movement. The hood is another issue entirely. It will not conform well to anything other than wearing it in the 'up' position. I'm returning it and will keep looking.

I was looking for something to layer over a light down sweater and the upper and forearms were too snug even for a mid-layer that light. And I'm not over-muscled, believe me. Returned.

He had mentioned that Marmot had come out with an incredibly lightweight rainproof fabric better than anything developed previously. I was surprised and delighted to find the jacket on STP's website at an unbelievably low price. Ordered it for him and he loves it.

Reviewed by hawkfan from washington on Wednesday, January 02, 2013used for seahawks game (heavy rain) totally waterproof, but the zipper has a tendency to unzip from bottom. Zipper did not break, but I can see it possibly happening.

Answer We have sold a large quantity of these coats and have two reviews that stated they had to size up. On the whole there is no indication that the sizing for this coat runs small.

Question “This is described as waterproof yet in taking it out of the bag, it's all this very soft knit-type material from the sides all the way around the back. And this material is waterproof? Looks like a very comfortable jacket, but guess I will wait to hear if the recipient of this gift says its waterproof. Any further info on this knit type material that's supposed to waterproof?|Thanks”
