Marmot Tempo Jacket - Soft Shell (For Men)

I used it backcountry skiing. It handles 25 mph winds and still stays warm. I would only think it is warm enough to Handle cold temps for high exertion uses.

I gave it a 4 rating because I wish the sleeves were 1 inch longer. The sleeves are actually 34 - 35 inches but I always like a little longer sleeve. Otherwise, great softshell. I wouldn't use this in full on winter conditions but it is great for participating in highly aerobic activities in cool conditions. It has a DWR finish and it is wind resistant. I've been on hikes in the mountains with temps in the teens and it worked great with a baselayer. I stayed warm, as long as I was moving, and it breathed well. If I stopped in a shady area I could feel myself cooling down somewhat (I had a puffy jacket on hand for longer breaks), but on sunny slopes I was fine. I would say it excels in temps between 40 and 60 Fahrenheit. Probably would work well for afternoon spring skiing also.

I use the tempo jacket for running, cycling, and weight lifting. I also use the tempo jacket for casual use when warmth is not a concern. The tempo jacket is a good light weight shell.

Great looking jacket with all the features I needed including zippered pockets, solid zippers all around, good stretch and flexibility.

I got this to replace an old Race Face windbreaker that I used for running and mountain biking. I think it will be great for those pursuits. It stretches well to move with you, but I do wish it was a little bit thicker with more insulation. It isn't going to keep you warm, other than keeping the wind from going through. Sleeves are slightly long, which is much better than being too short. I'm 6'2" with long arms, and it is still a little long for me. It is perfect when hunched over a bike.

Purchased for husband for christmas, knew from previous reviews ran small, bought size up, fit PERFECT. He has worn it every day since. Love it. He also doesnt like grey/silver, but he loved the color of this jacket.

No lining, so it's not that warm on its own. However, it works well as a shell when layering to protect against light rain and/or wind. I'm 6'3" and the XL fit me well in length. Normal fit - not snug.

My son is picky, but I sure he will be happy with it.

This was a gift for my husband. He loves it! We had to order up one size from his other Marmot coat. It fits a bit tight around the wrists with his regular size.
