The outside material is definitley wind resistant - I would wear this instead of a fleece. The details such as the inside pocket with zipper, the velcro sleeves are what make it nice. It looks good too - looks snappy. Lightweight. I bought my son one also and he said he loves the jacket - usually he tells me that things that I give to him are bad.

Answer This jacket does not have a M rating since it is only a non-insulated shell. It has no laminate, it only has Dry-clime in the collar. It is wind resistant and water resistant due to the tight weave of the Nylon/Spandex fibers.

Question “Does this use Marmot's "M" rating ? Seems as though all/most of their laminates are rated via that ? Concerned about windproofness and breathability and so far, only one v. short review ?”
