Verified Buyer Reviewed by Tailgate from Washington DC on Wednesday, January 11, 2017Very nice jacket, very warm for as thin as it is. I can wear it as an outer layer in mild weather or get my puffy jacket overit when it's 20F outside.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by AB from Atlanta on Wednesday, January 11, 2017Very nice soft material. Sporty fit, trim but true to size. Great interior finish.
Reviewed by casual hiker from Iowa on Monday, August 29, 2016I got the bright blue one, and liked it but didn't love it so it goes back. The inside color which is black doesn't look great in contrast to the blue, and when zipped all the way up like in the picture it is uncomfortable for the chin.
Question & Answer
This is an older closeout model that they are no longer producing.
I really don't know what the fabric "weight" is per say. It's not a real heavy fabric like canvas. The whole jacket maybe weighs a pound. The reason that I like it so much is because it really blocks the wind. More so when you cinch the bottom drawstring. The pocked on the chest is roomy enough for a billfold and sunglasses. Maybe 6" top to bottom and 5" right to left. If you can get this with one of Sierras awesome price reductions, it's a really great deal! Marmot does make a quality product. Hope this helps.
This jacket does not have a M rating since it is only a non-insulated shell. It has no laminate, it only has Dry-clime in the collar. It is wind resistant and water resistant due to the tight weave of the Nylon/Spandex fibers.
“Does this use Marmot's "M" rating ? Seems as though all/most of their laminates are rated via that ? Concerned about windproofness and breathability and so far, only one v. short review ?”
