    Great 3 season softshell for the Northeast...Fall, Winter and Spring, this jacket get's the job done. You can easily layer underneath it although it can be tough to get long sleeves underneath the jacket due to micro fleece inside. Great wind breaker and the water resistance is surprisingly good in light rain...water just beads off of it. Typical Marmot quality!

    I use the Threshold jacket for casual use, cold weather in concert with mid-weight fleece, and hiking (although, the jacket does not breath very well during strong exertion). Jacket is comfortable and durable. The breathability issue can be solved by using a self wicking shirt or merino wool shirt (wool still insulates when wet).

    Great shell. Light weight, so not great as stand alone outerlayer for colder temps. Fantastic value - bought with a STP coupon and got additonal 30%, so can't beat the price for the prodcut anywhere - I tried. Super fast shipping. Only hitch: I ordered a medium vs. my normal large based on the reviews and it was WAY too small around chest and torso. I am 5'9", 42" chest. Had to return for a large. Return process was just as great. Fast, efficient. Easy. The large is slightly too long on my arms, but that is normal for me. The velco wrists allow for adjustment, so it's as close to perfect as I can get. Buy this jacket if you are on the fence.
