I really wanted a factory footprint, and like many other people on the web, I could not find one. I ended up calling Marmot for info. This tent is a "special markets" tent made for STP and there may be a few others that received overstock. It is based on, and similar to, the Limelight tent which is regular production, but NOT full mesh like this Titan. Dimensions, fabrics, poles and hardware are the same but might be different colors. The Limelight footprint IS identical to the footprint that would be used for the Titan. The reason that no one can find a Titan/Limelight footprint is that they must be ordered through a dealer from Marmot for $40. If Marmot does not have them in stock, they do production runs seasonally. If they have them in stock, they will also sell directly if you call them. They are currently OUT of (2011) stock until next year/season (seasons are based on northern hemisphere). There are many requests for this footprint since tents like this have entered the market without a footprint and stock sells out fast. Marmot is aware of the footprint shortage and will ramp up production next year. The Limelight tent generally includes a footprint, but it is not marketed separately, and is only available separately as a part through dealers or the Marmot parts dept(and again, it DOES fit the Titan). So, if you want a footprint before next year, and are not lucky enough to find a factory one laying around somewhere, you will have to buy a Limelight tent, or use a different footprint, or make one. I really liked this tent because I found it to be symmetrical- poles are interchangeable both side-for-side and end-for-end and have no attached hardware. The fly can be put on either way. If you are into simplicity or pitching in the rain or darkness, you will appreciate the simplicity of setting up this tent. It seemed impossible to get anything backwards. I sneezed and it was up. ;-) Marmot confirmed that even though this is a special edition tent, the fabrics, the hardware, and warranty are all standard. By the way, Marmot is owned by K2 and my past experience with K2 warranty has been superb with other products. I knocked off a star not because of quality...but because of the lack of availability of a factory footprint. This tent would be a nice ultralight with only a footprint and fly in use.
