Closeouts. Ventilation, ventilation, and more ventilation. Marmot's Titan backpacking tent is mostly mesh under the weatherproof fly, to keep you exceptionally cool in hot weather and eliminate tent condensation when the mercury drops. Its light weight makes it perfect for casual weekend backpackers, with added length so you can really stretch out.

On my third season with this tent. I love the mesh, it's like being outside but keeps the bugs out. Rainfly is easy to clip on and has 2 great vestibules. It's perfect for 2 people or 3 really scrawny ones but that's normal for how tents are marketed. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

Great for two adults even though it is billed as a 3-person tent. Wish there were tie-backs on both of the fly doors; a window in the fly would be nice.

We ordered this tent because of Marmot's exceptional reputation for quality craftsmanship, and we were not disappointed! I have no doubt that this tent will hold up for scores of years. The stitching and seam-taping are very well done. Because of the cross-pole, head room is maximized. The side walls are nearly vertical, making the entire floor space useable. The Titan has the most mesh of any summer backpacking tents I've seen, so air flow is plentiful. That is important on the East Coast because of our hot, humid conditions. The airflow also means it probably would not be a good choice for winter camping, but Marmot makes other tents excellent for winter use. As far as drawbacks, I would say the Titan weighs a bit more than I would want to backpack a long way with, but for shorter trips, the extra weight is worth it because of the huge amount of space. The Titan is rated as a three-person tent, but I think it would be a bit snug for three adults. But for two, it's a palace! And if three are using it, the weight is pretty reasonable compared to other three-person tents.

I used this tent all summer long, 60 days plus. The tent is lightweight for a three person and easy to set up. However, the fly rises to high above the base of the tent body, or the tent body has mesh surrounding too low on itself. Either way this makes the tent very drafty in even light winds. The biggest complaint is that the middle pole that supports the fly pops loose in high winds and then punctures the rainfly. I like marmot products but this tent is really terrible.

got the tent for it's large screening and space. definitely a lot roomier than a two-person. we are a couple and a dog, and there definitely wasn't much extra room with that combo. it'd be fairly crowded with three people. purchased primarily for remote canoe camping, so weight was not a huge issue. like the visibility. super easy to set up. rain fly worked well. nice features. glad i got it. in this crazy world of ours, get outside and spend some time slowing down!

This is a terrific tent for two regular-sized people or 3 very tiny people. We have just returned from a month of car-camping and backpacking in varied conditions. It stayed dry, was easy to set up, and was all-around a great tent. It is light enough for backpacking (although a little bulky) and roomy enough for car camping--a good compromise tent, if you can only have one.For car camping we put a queen size air-mattress in it. It just fits, with about 8 inches of extra space on one end.The tent comes with appropriate, lightweight aluminum stakes. For car camping I would recommend taking two more heavy duty stakes to stake out the vestibules. These are the only stakes that are really critical (unless there is a very big wind) and the lightweight aluminum can be a little bendy if you're trying to get them into really hard ground.[...] sells a 10dollar 5'x7' nylon "backpackers tarp" that makes a perfect footprint. If you want to use just the footprint and the flysheet you could add some cord or nylon web loops to the four corner grommets for attaching the poles (you could probably also just bend the poles a little more to get them to fit in the current grommets, but I haven't tried that). The only major improvement I would see to this tent is if you could choose which side of the vestibule to stake out and which to open. A little velcro loop at the top of the flysheet would give you the ability to flip half of the fly sheet over to cover just half of the tent.

I am both a backpacker and a paddler and have used the tent on both kinds of trips. There is a ton of room in this tent. More then enough space for two and a dog. I believe there would be enough for three as the tent was made for three but it would be a close fit. For two people its heavy, but with the help of the dog, managable. I do enjoy the compact size which the tent roles up into, and the small mesh keeps sand and other particles out well. The only thing I wish this tent had is the ability to set the rain fly up without the tent. Other then that I am extremely happy with it.
