Instructions do not describe how to put lock onto the bracket. The bracket is in two pieces, (it goes together like a bike light that attaches to the frame). If you look at the bracket there is a big square on one side and a smaller one on the other. Push on the smaller square to separate the top part of the bracket from the bottom part. There are two screws on the underside that you unscrew. then you can insert the cable and tighten. After you attach the bottom part of the bracket to the bike you can slide the top part of the bracket on. I suspect the bracket should have been attached to the lock at the manufacturers.

It is very simple to set your own combination. The bracket is very simple too. Good value for the price.

The lock is very sturdy and is a good deal for the money. The biggest problem is that it comes with a frame mounting to secure the lock when it's not in use that is impossible to use. The instructions were confusing and the parts and the instructions were out of synch with what you actually have to work with. As a result, I just wind the lock around the bike seat stem instead of using the frame mount.
