Heavy duty. I,ve worn a pair of these for years.

I have only worn these around town a few time, haven't done hardcore hiking in them yet. But they appear to be good quality. I have relatively narrow feet and got a M, they are snug. The traction is great, and the ankle support is good. I have narrow ankles and large calf muscles, causing many tall boots to give me bruises in a circle around my calf and where they wrinkle at the ankle, these did NOT do that. The leather is soft but supportive. They do feel a little clunky and it takes a minute to shove your foot into them, but that is not unexpected for the type of boot they are. Overall I would say these are good quality, but by a size wider than you usually do.

I bought these boots 17 years ago, and I am still wearing them. They are still waterproof, comfortable, warm, and have good traction after all this time. I am a hunter and irrigation technician so I'm in snow and water all the time and these boots never fail. If you buy these boots and they fit, it will be one of the best investments you'll ever make.

The Dry-Z insoles that come along with this may work, but I'll never know because if i insert it in, then the width of the shoe decreases - a disadvantage if you have feet as wide as mine. So I recommend narrow-footed people get the wide. As for wide-footed people, you'll have to skip the DryZ insoles like I did. If Matterhorn reads these reviews, I'd suggest they come up with the same thing but cut the top lower, just above the ankle. More people, including myself - despite having already bought this one - will definitely buy this new version.

Good durable boots made of thick leather. Heavy, solid, and well maid. A bit stiff but should get better with time. Based on previous reviews I went with the "wide" width but regular width would have been ok for me as well. Seems to be warm but I didn't test them outdoors yet.

The shoe strings are bad--they had to be replaced.

I bought these for Law Enforcement, these boots look and feel just as great as Danners. They were well over 100 bucks cheaper. I would recommend this boot to anyone needing a good work boot!!! Made in the USA!!!!!

I wanted something waterproof but stylish. Stylish to me is a pair of these, some tights and a cute skirt. I wore them all day in snow but they were damp by the second day. These keep me warm and dry and so many people comment on them. Wish the "wide" were wider though.
