Mephisto Action Shoes - Suede (For Men)

I bought a pair of Mephisto walking shoes a few months ago and wanted to find another pair for a reasonable price. I found the Allrounder "Action Shoe" for casual wear. They are very light and very comfortable. I've only had them for a couple weeks so I don't know how durable they are (although everything I've read on line says they last quite a while); the real test will be this spring when I'll be walking around D.C. all day. I've developed a real liking for Mephisto products, though--very light with good support, and a unique look. Perfect combination for me.

Nice styling, but rubber-chemical smell is overpowering; had to put in heel/tongue pads to size right. Go down at least a half-size. Suede finish and nubby sole looks good, but concerned about wear.

If you're not familiar with Mephisto, think Mercedes or Rolls Royce. All natural materials, always superb comfort, French design, all hand made. The first example of Mephisto for me which are made in China, so we'll see if the French company can maintain its perfectionist standards with this edition. Personally, I love the mix of dark brown upper suede and the black lower contrasting trim and sole. It's like having Porsche styling on your feet. Perfection is the Mephisto standard in materials, design and construction, and these are decepttively light sport shoes which still have the uptown appeal and look. Truly incredibly comfortble.

I'll be using my Mephistos for extensive city walking. Tremendous cushiony feeling.

A well made shoe, but not enough support in the arch or heal for my particular feet.

These were bought for my husband who is very picky about his shoes. He has worn them for hours right out of the box and loves the comfort. I love the look of the shoe with casual clothes.

These shoes are well-made and very comfortable. The nubby sole is great for light hiking, and also makes a great golf practice shoe! I'd definitely but these again.
