Mephisto Folmer Leather Shoes - Lace-Ups (For Men)

These shoes simply don't measure up to the normally high Mephisto standard. They're not of Goodyear Welt construction. They seem a little too narrow. The leather finish is dull. I recommend upgrading to Mephisto's higher-end Goodyear Welt shoes (Malchior, etc.) instead of spending nearly as much for this inferior product.

Mephisto is a great brand and I jumped on these at such a great price. They look good and are very comfortable. There is just one problem, they smell terrible. It is something they do with the leather, it doesn't smell like a leather shoe, it smells odd. It has been driving me crazy when I wear them. I am going to give them a good conditioning with lotion and air them out and see if the smell goes away. I suspect it will over time. Otherwise a great shoe at a great price.
