I have returned the product which is shorter than the current Mephistos I own that are also the Gazelle style. I have reorder the 8.5 in hopes that this will solve the problem.

These are great shoes, very comfortable, I very much liked the idea of black suede. However, the suede nap does not seem very deep, easily looking scruffed and scratched. In fact when I received them I thought the had been worn because there was scruffing on the toe where it had rested against the box. A good brush, used frequenty well keep them looking good. As a dressier shoe the other problem I had was the Mesphisto fabric lable sewn on the outside seaming of each shoe. I know its a prestigious brand, but I don't think it's appropriate in a dress shoe. Other than those minor points I really like them.

Most uncomfortable shoe, especially from Mephisto. I bought Mephisto, flats, several years ago from STP and at a much better price-they became my favorite shoes for years. These Mephistos are dressier but also have little support, cushioning-feels like walking on cement blocks. Not all Mephistos are created equal!

These shoes are very comfortable, and the wedge heel keeps them from being frumpy.
