    I have a wide foot and a high instep. The toe box is roomy in this shoe, and the lining is soft, so it doesn't irritate. The sole is also a resilient, but durable, rubber. I just returned from walking about 4 miles on New York City streets and sidewalks, much of the time at a brisk pace. In many of my shoes, my feet would be killing me - not in these. I am a bit tired, but my feet do not hurt.
