Another great shoe in the Merrell barefoot lineup. Snug through the midfoot and grips my heels. Nice wide toebox. Excellent traction with the Vibram soles. They seem to run about 1/2 size big, but I wear socks with them so they fit great. Go down in size if you want to be sockless. The inside construction is somewhat less breathable than other models, but very well constructed. I also have the True Gloves and the insides came apart almost right away. Merrell beefed up the construction and I expect this pair to last a long time.

flat is most important. Like the other merrels, this one is great for its zero drop. It is roomier in width than some of the similar merrells. The mesh upper is a nice change of pace from similar merrels too. cooler, lets air through

165lbs 5'11" foot size 10.5 but i bought size 10. these run .5 size smaller. Like a glove... Only had for one week at time of review. Intention: Cross-train; Treadmill, running gravel/concrete, weight lifting and basketball. Like em for all of those. Stable for weight training, lightweight and unnoticeable for running. Outer Sole: I ran outside with them alot on all surfaces; dirt, gravel, mud, rocks, sand, concrete, rocky concrete. You can feel whats under your feet but it is amply thick enough to prevent any pain from rocks and such. Material: super lightweight, very meshy and breathable, but feels like high quality lightness. I'm running in Alaska so its a lil nippy out, but they are fine. Break-in: Haven't really had any issues with break-in, apparently you're supposed to slowly work into this type of sockless/minimalist shoe, but I really haven't noticed a difference. Your usual footfall feels weird because there is basically no heel. So when you put them on you feel short. But I mean basically its just running barefoot with tougher skin. Size: Get .5 size below your normal, read that all over the web, and it was very true. 10.5 generally fits me, very average build, average foot, and size 10 is an ideal fit. They are snug on midsection of foot, you can tie to your liking. Plenty of toe wiggle up and to side. Good arch support. The actual inner sole is basically flat, but the actual shoe itself is the arch support, as its shaped with an arch. Overall: Dig em, good price on STP (sale AND clearance colors; $50), unfortunately $25 shipping to alaska slightly negates that! I got the Bright orange/yellow ones, thought they would look weird but i actually like em, its like fire.

Great shoe, first run was on the beach in South Carolina, these shoes really performed. Walked in them the first 2 weeks to get use to them, now running in them feels natural. I also use these shoes for cross fit, excellent for squats, and deadlifts.

I bought the men's Merrell's Barefoot Train Flux Glove running shoe in a size 7 (I wear a women's size 9) This is my first foray into the "barefoot" shoe. The fit is great and the performance and comfort are nearly perfect. I have worn the shoes both running and during indoor training sessions. The shoes are very light and I like they way the sole contacts the ground more so than in a typical athletic shoe with all of the layers of rubber and cushion. The Barefoot traction provides more balance and control. The only rub, literally, are the metal eyelets on the inside of the shoe. Without socks they dig into my skin and cause blisters. I have to wear socks with the shoes to avoid this problem. Other than that minor inconvenience- I would definitely recommend these shoes.

The Flux Shoes are like Merrell's Bare Access on steroids, definitely a step up. I like the reinforced sole with a full, Vibram outer. This has been a great shoe for warmer weather pavement runs and indoor training pursuits because the synthetic meshed upper allows for good breathability. The snug heal-cup fit offers ample support for various calisthenic exercises with plenty wiggle room for the toes. The only drawback is sizing. They fill a little more snug than other Merrell Barefoots I tried. I typically wear a 10.5 Merrell barefoot and probably could've gone with a half-size larger. No worries, though. A lacing adjustment solved my issue. Plus, I wear micro-thin socks for funk control, and the shoes were designed to be worn with or without socks. Overall, the Train Flux is a good, mid-grade gym and running shoe.
