Not a true winter jacket because it's not overly warm, good for temps to 30 degrees F. That makes it perfect for Seattle winters, drizzly days with temps between 35 and 40. The jacket fits very tight, especially across the chest. I am skinny so that works out well for me, but would not for a person with a large chest.

Very waterproof, I stood out in the rain watching my daughter run a cross country race and stayed bone dry! Great hood!

This is a very nice jacket, but runs small. I originally purchased an XL but found that it would be impossible to have other layers underneath without feeling incredibly constricted. I exchanged it for a 2XL and find that I now have room for other layers in colder weather. Moreover, I can wear it (2XL) with a thin shirt underneath and it looks fine.

Dynamite coat for the money ... if and only if you're broad at the shoulders and skinny on the way down. I could not even zip my XL. Now, I enjoy the suds as much as anyone, but this was crazy trim. Made me upset - not at the coat - but that I couldn't keep it.
