Pleasantly surprised...Verified Buyer Reviewed by SierraTPfan from Colorado on Monday, May 15, 2017I wasn't quite sure what to make of the BOA technology when I pulled this fresh pair out of the box, but quickly found out how sweet this lacing system was! Very easy to use, holds the foot securely and snug, with an easy release that's as if the shoe is a slip on. Very impressed!

Even tho' I wear a women's 12N, I can also wear a men's 10 regular width. Sometimes have to wear thicker socks, but the BOA lacing compensates and allows me to snug the shoe up nicely even with thinner socks. I also wear orthotics, and they fit well in this shoe. I read reviews of the Merrell Capra Bolt shoe and decided it was worth ordering. Also, Sierra Trading had the best price anywhere for this shoe. I walk my wonderful pugs several times a day, and getting out the door more quickly is made much easier with shoes that have the BOA lacing system. This shoe was so comfy that I went back and ordered the black ones!

Very durable. I own two pair of boots with the system so I knew what to expect with these shoes. Usually wear 11.5 EE shoe. Ordered this shoe in 12 and the fit is good and comfortable. Took a few days to "break in"

It does randomly come loose at times if you rub against something, but certainly no worse than normal laces and I like it a lot better than laces in general, so overall a plus.
Shoes are a smidge narrow, I almost returned them but in the end I figured I'd just wear them until they stretch a bit. A week later, doing ok. If you have wide feet, make sure you order a wide.
All in all a good shoe, not a home run but a solid 4 stars. -

They have a dial system to draw the sides in, but they didn't pull tightly enough for him. Also the "stripes" on the sides look screen-printed making them look cheap. Had to return.

I like the BOA lace system pretty well, though seems like it might be hard to get them super tight if you like them like that. Other than that it's really easy to use and seems to hold well. They seem to fit true to size in my opinion.
