“I am a biologist and hike year-round as part of my job. I always buy hiking boots a half size bigger than my shoe size, but that still felt too tight, so I ended up getting a full size larger. The first time I wore them was about 5 hours of snowshoeing with no problems...except they are not waterproof, only water resistant. I am going to try to waterproof them myself. Also, they don't have great traction on ice, but what boots do?”
