    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    All over the shoe looked tough and enduring. Was not a very comfortable so probably needs some breaking in. Not a shoe to run around in. Get a waterproof trail runner instead. The biggest problem is that the shoe is very narrow especially around the toe so if you are hell bent on getting the shoe get atleast a size larger and try it out at the mall before ordering it online. Not the best merrell shoe I've worn over the years.

    I bought it for my husband for our future Hawaii and China trip that we may need to hike in the wet. He put his feet in, wore to work and everything were fine. The bottom is thick because of the hiking design, The support and material are good. The shoes are pretty heavy compare with walking shoes, may not be good for daily use, but good for hiking. It is good deal that made in Gore Tex.

    Got these quickly, as always and they felt comfortable right out of the box. I have worn them every day since and they have not let me down in wet conditions and dry. I'm a nurse and stand on my feet, all day and these shoes are very comfortable. I would recommend them!

    imo: The best shoe merrell has made. Great support because of full shank in the sole. Much stiffer than any other comparable shoe. Yet still flexible and very comfortable.
