No, I would not recommend this to a friend
“Like a previous reviewer warned, and I didn't listen the waist doesn't pull snug enough for swimming or water sports. Too bad because these are good looking shorts, feel good, look like they would wear good. But as "board shorts" you can't snug the waist and they will probably fall off the first time you get out of the water.”
