Closeouts. Whether you're rocking the solid or patterned side, Merrell's Fliptherm reversible jacket is a toasty, lightweight companion to fend off winter's chills, thanks to insulating, breathable PrimaLoft® and a comfy, soft shell design.

Every outdoor company makes these light jackets. STP sells many at the right prices. I'm sure all are good. The plus of this is it's reversible, with a different look on each side: quilted on one and patterned like herringboned feathers on the other. Hand pockets on each side and a chest zip on one. Kind of cool! Fit: I'm 6'1", 185 with 36' sleeves and the XL is just right for me. I can wear it as a warm up jacket over XC ski gear, including a thin jacket. Or over a heavy fleece/sweater.

The size XL looks great on my guy, who is 6'4" and slim. The sleeves and body are long enough to keep him toasty. He wears it with a shirt & sweater underneath and with or without a wind shell on top. Zippers are easy to operate with his big paws. A great value- he will wear it for many seasons.

I don't imagine this is warm enough to wear alone on cold winter days--but it is a nice, multi-use jacket for a good price. Since it's a PrimaLoft product I could be surprised by its warmth, but the fill really isn't that thick compared to other jackets I've owned. The pictures shown here are technically the "inside" (reversible), and much more plain than the other side, as that fabric is fairly bright with a distinct pattern. I would suggest looking up pictures via Google Images for a better representation of what this jacket looks like. Oh and make sure your stitching/embroidery is done properly on yours, I had to exchange one since it looked like my daughter tried to do it on the sewing machine.
