Good looking and quality shoe, light, but the sizing is off. Merrells normally run 1/2 size too short, so I ordered size 9.5 for the regularly size 9. The delivered shoe was about 1 size too big...

Reviewed by Joe from Chula Vista, CA on Wednesday, October 03, 2012These shoes were very comfortable when I first put them on. I wore them around the house & neighborhood to break them in. Going on hikes with switchbacks, they worked great. Good traction prevented slips and hard toe protected from rocks. However, on trails without switchbacks that basically go straight up & down, my toes feel cramped and my heels got blisters from the hard insoles. I may have to experiment with different socks and/or changing socks mid-hike. I would only recommend these to a friend if they buy them discount through Sierra Trading Post! I wouldn't buy these at full retail.

And since the original shipping charge is almost $10, and the return shipping charge is more than $5, it costs me $15 just to try it and ship it back! Otherwise, good shoes. I wish I could keep them, but they are too small!
