    These are perfect for hiking in the Southwest where day and night temps very greatly. They aren't heavyweight, but still have thicker cushioning on the bottom that most other brands that I have tried don't offer. They almost feel like you added an additional boot sole liner. I carry a lightweight wool sock liner, but haven't needed the extra insulation. These are a very good sock for slightly subfreezing to about 100 degrees.
