Closeouts. Smart travel is all about efficiency, and so is Merrell's Lenticular Adventure Rest jacket. The wind-resistant breathable jacket packs into an interior pocket and transforms into a soft neck pillow when you need to catch some Zzs.

I had hoped that it would be a bit more technical in appearance and usefulness. It's more of a casual jacket than a fully functional piece of outerwear to brave the elements in challenging situations. Feels a bit small. No room for layering under my regular extra large size for 6' 220lbs.

Sizing information:I purchased an XL, my size is just over 6' tall, 190lbs, 42" chest, 34" waist.
Since I intend to use the jacket for biking or hiking in cool (30-60 degrees F) weather, on top of a base layer and a shirt or two, I sized up.
My cuff length is 34, and the sleeves are a extend down to the knuckles, so they're long, which can be helpful to cover your hands at times.
The way the jacket is cut, I can tell that a large would have worked, but it would be snug if worn over underlayers.
The jacket got it's first test in a heavy, wet snow, and I remained dry and warm in 35 degree weather. The only reason this wan't a 5 star review is the lack of pit zips to remove more moisture during heavy exertion.
The "Amazon" color is a bright green (for higher visibility while biking), but not fluorescent, so it still can be worn in casual situations without making you look like a human highlighter.
A good jacket to protect you from wet, cool weather, just as it was designed to do. I appreciate the fact that the collar doesn't stand up all the time, it can be folded down when you're not in a downpour or freezing.
This is a casual daily-wear jacket with some technical capability, rather than the other way around. A good value from Sierra Trading Post.

I bought this for my husband who usually wears a large (6'1", 200 lb) but he really needs an extra-large in this brand so it's going to be exchanged. I like the weight of this jacket. Too many rain jackets are flimsy but this one has a nice soft lining that will keep you warm if the weather gets raw feeling. It's not bulky though.
